<idAbs>stcl_maj displays a network of major street centerlines in Pima County using streets that are appropriate as a reference layer on maps. stcl_maj does NOT use the criteria from Major Streets & Scenic Routes Plans of Pima County and the City of Tucson. Post-processing is done to dissolve stcl_maj on the STREET field and then each segment is broken at each intersection by the Feature to Line tool in ArcGIS.
Known Errors/Qualifications: If a portion of a road is considered a major road, this layer will contain all segments of that road. Some park roads that are not classified as major are included.
12/2013: While this layer is maintained as a Shapefile, the coverage format is still required for certain nightly processing. See Steve Whitney. - FEMA floodplain data extraction process
