Description: SPRINGS displays springs throughout Pima County. The springs were extracted from the USGS GeoNames database, USGS DLGs, the ADWR surface water rights database, and field reconnaissance conducted by Pima County staff.
Known Errors/Qualifications: This layer has been updated to include springs from the ADWR surface water rights database. Upon merging datasets a number of attributes from this database were included that are not pertinent to features from the other three sources. Use the SOURCE field to select or perform a definition query that excludes ADWR source data if necessary. ADWR spatial accuracy to within +/- 10 acres.
Lineage: Merged Geonames, DLG, PC, and ADWR datasets together.

Last shallow groundwater area added was Sopori by Cory Jones, 5/5/08. 1 area added 8/16/10 from Golder Associates report titled High Groundwater Geotechnical Report for Tres Lomas North. Rosemont Mine added 12/6/2010 from Montgomery and Assoc. PAG extended Rincon Creek Area and added Tanque Verde Creek (Mid) shallow groundwater areas in May 2012.
Description: This dataset represents a merger of all wells in Pima County from ADWR's GWSI and Wells-55 well databases. Wells in which the water was deeper than 50 feet or in which the latest water depth data was obtained before January 1, 1980 were deleted. The dataset includes all well types.

Description: This 1 meter raster is derived from PAG's 2008 LiDAR based ndsm and from a NDVI extracted from the 1 meter 2007 NAIP imagery. A threshold was identified for the ndvi surface to reclassify the surface to only represent vegetation with a value of 1 and non-vegetation was not classified. The ndsm is generated by subtracting the LiDAR based bare earth surface from the first return surface to get a "height above ground" surface. These surfaces were multiplied against each other to assign a height above ground to the vegetation cells. This surface was then reclassified into the following height category groupings: 1: 0ft-2ft above ground, 2: 2ft - 6ft above ground; 3: +6ft above ground.

Description: The original full dataset contains information on wildlife linkages provided as part of the County-wide Wildlife Connectivity Assessments. This dataset is a subset of the original that shows wildlife movement areas.
The original dataset represents areas identified as important for wildlife movement and landscape connectivity in counties throughout Arizona. Data was generated from stakeholder input at workshops. This multi-agency, multi-disciplinary effort was undertaken to encourage biologists and non-biologists alike to incorporate information about wildlife linkages and strategies for their conservation into transportation corridor and project planning as well as other community projects and land-use decisions. The workshops provided a forum for stakeholders to learn more about wildlife connectivity, outline the general locations of wildlife linkages on large maps, and provide descriptive information about each linkage on datasheets. The linkages were then further refined to eliminate redundancy in the data.
In Pima County, AZGFD worked with the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) and largely followed the Critical Landscape Connections broadly-defined in Pima County’s Conservation Lands System, as part of the county’s Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan.

Known Errors/Qualifications: This dataset represents approximate location of wildlife movements and should be used for general planning purposes only. The Arizona Game and Fish Department makes no warranties, implied or expressed, with the data or information derived from this dataset.
Lineage: Data obtained from AZGFD on 12-3-14. Reprojected to NAD83 HPGN and attribute table cleaned by Erik Glenn on 12-5-14. Original dataset was then split into three separate layers: 1) barriers and areas of development; 2) movement areas; and 3) crossing areas.
